Janwani, an NGO, is dedicated to working for heritage conservation and culture promotion. The Pune Heritage Festival had its humble origins in 2012, then known as ‘Virasat Pune Heritage Week’, which was initiated to commemorate the World Heritage Day on the 18th of April. In a short period this festival has helped newer businesses in heritage tourism to evolve and created necessary buzz around heritage activities further opening new vistas. Most of these events are at very nominal participation fee with the aim to engage people and make heritage fun!
Pune Heritage Festival is a people’s movement for heritage and culture. It aims to bring like-minded Punekars to ideate, inspire, innovate and implement ideas that render heritage conservation in a sustainable proposition.It brings together different institutes and organizations that work for the cause of ‘Heritage’. It provides a platform to showcase their contribution towards heritage conservation.
